Howard Shore Biography
Howard Shore is one of the best movie score composer in the world. he was born in Canada in the city of Toronto, on the 18th of October 1946. He created more than 80 successful movie scores and he is the winner of three Oscars for the music he created for 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy. he is also the proud owner of four Grammy Awards and two Golden Globes. Howard Shore worked with some of the best movie directors in Hollywood, including Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, David Cronenberg and Jonathan Demmel.
The Canadian composer's first film score was for Croneneberg's movie 'The Brood' and after that he continued to write the soundtrack for all his movies.
Between David Croneneberg's movies, Howard Shore composed the movie soundtracks for 'After Hours', a movie by Martin Scorsese and for 'The Silence of the Lambs', one of the best movies of the 1990s. The collaboration with John Demmel also brought Howard Shore his first big success. Actually, Howard Shore is the only alive composer who created the music for a movie that is in the Top Five Oscar winning category.
But the composer's biggest success was the music score for 'The Fellowship of the Ring', in 2001. This also brought him the first Academy Award, along with BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations.
Howard Shore also composed the scores for the following Lord of the Rings movies, 'The Two Towers' and 'The Return of the King', for which he won the Oscar for Best Original Score in 2003. The movie also brought him the First Golden Globe Award and 2 Grammy Awards.
In the following years, Howard shore created movie soundtracks for 'Soul of the Ultimate Nation' in 2007, 'The Lazy Mimzy' and 'Eastern Promises'. In 2010, the Canadian composer worked for the soundtrack of 'Twilight' series and 'Edge of Darkness'. Howard Shore will also compose the music score for David Cronenberg's next production, 'A Dangerous Method'.
